somewhere in the building is a red box on the wall with a wrench and heads-up inside. Is there a valve to shut off the water ... But the water back to an alarm that can be found!

I design for sprinkler systems. Do not do it yourself. Call for protection against fire, qualified to do so. The detectors must be tested and then the scheme for compensation can be accepted. To do it right, call a plumber.
